| New Feature |
Manual resend of the receipt capture file is available through the Operations menu in WinEPS The receipt file is created during the end of day process and sent up to the receipt host during the start of the WinEPS Engine or Lanes. If this upload fails or is aborted, it can be manually restarted Manual resend is optional. During start of the WinEPS Engine or Lanes, WinEPS attempts to automatically send all receipt capture files that are present; without manual intervention this occurs at the beginning of each day. |
| New Feature |
An option to turn off the sending of the daily receipt capture XML files is available. If this option is selected, the XML files containing the receipt and signature information will still be generated during the WinEPS End of Day process, but the file will not be sent to the host, and will not be purged from the directory. Use of this setting will make it necessary to manually collect the generated XML files. |
| New Feature |
Abort allowed for the MTX Receipt Capture Host
when using Secure Send.
If WinEPS shuts down while performing an upload of the signature file to the MTX Receipt Capture Host while using the Secure Send transfer protocol, the upload will abort smoothly with the signature file ready to be sent again on next connect. |
| New Feature |
Expanded Pay by Touch
Pay by touch sends both a primary and secondary response code. The Response code table has been modified to accommodate this additional message to provide additional messaging based on the second 4 digit Host Response Code. Both response codes have been concatenated together to from a 7 digit code, with the first 3 digits being the primary response code and the last four being the secondary response code. This allows specific messaging based on the combination of any specific primary and backup code. The changes to the Pay by Touch host response table will make previous versions of the host table incompatible; therefore, during an upgrade a new host response table will be implemented, overwriting any personalized settings. Users who have already installed the 815.1 patch that has already made these changes can save any personalized host response code file and replace it after the upgrade is complete. It will be compatible with the new format. |
| New Feature |
USB connection is supported for the Hypercom 4100 terminal. |
| New Feature | WinEPS has added support for the NCR 5993 terminal to its OpenEPS interface |

Security Compliance -
To increase security, WinEPS is becoming compliant with the recommended PCI Security practices. Many of the changes are transparent to the WinEPS user; customer information is encrypted and decrypted by WinEPS and it is not necessary for the WinEPS user to perform any setup to enable this feature, nor is it possible to disable this feature. During processing, all customer card information is stored in an encrypted format. All transaction information stored due to offline processing is stored in an encrypted format. Track 2 Data from customer cards is only stored for the duration of the transaction; after the transaction completion all track 2 data is deleted. Encrypted PIN information is only stored for the duration of the transaction; after the transaction completion all PIN data is deleted. This change might affect the ability to perform a void of any PIN based transaction. |

| New Feature |
The default customer text on the Signature Capture TAC has been updated to add:: Please Sign Below and Hit Enter/Done" |

| New Feature | Pay by Touch - Biometrics has been expanded to support Self-Checkout lanes. |
| New Feature | During a Biometrics transaction, WinEPS requests the frequent shopper and customer date of birth information from the Biometrics host so that this information is available if the POS requests it. |
|
New Feature |
CVV2 Numbers are found on the back of credit cards and usually range from 3 to 9 digits. These numbers can assist in confirming the validity of a manually entered credit card. To use the CVV2 TAC, both the POS, and host must support this option. |
| New Feature |
WinEPS opens the following ports in the Windows XP firewall: 6201 - Lane Server Port 6221 - FTP server port 6231 - Journaling service port 6205 - BIOMTX server port Each of these ports is configurable. Lane Server Port, FTP server port, and Journaling service port are configured in the WinEPS Processing Options. The BIOMTX server port is configured in the WinEPS Terminal Configuration screen under the Biometrics TAC options. |
| New Feature |
Gift cards going to the ACI host will no longer be deactivated by cashing them out. Deactivation of a gift card will be processed as a Stored Value Issuance Reversal (void of an activation). WinEPS has added support for the NCR 5993 terminal to its OpenEPS interface. |
| WinEps Fix 473 | The Mod 10 checking performed on Fleet cards was being processed incorrectly. |
| WinEps Fix 475 | The amounts for Gift Card Recharges were not being correctly reported in the WinEPS End of Day Reports. |
| WinEps Fix 558 | When offline, the POS lane would time out for a transaction prior to the elapse of the WinEPS timer; the WinEPS timer was longer than it should have been due to the addition of a second timer value. This resulted in corruption as the lane completed the transaction before writing all transaction information to the offline file. This has been fixed by eliminating the erroneous addition of the second timer value. |
| WinEps Fix ACH | Previously, when the other key was selected during the customer cashback prompt, the terminal would display invalid cashback regardless of the dollar amount entered. This issue has been resolved |
| WinEps Fix 299 |
Smart WIC bug fixes for OpenEPS -
The following bugs were fixed: When the POS makes a call for the insertion of the Smart WIC, the command is correctly sent to the Ice6000. "Cancels" from the terminal during PIN entry are passed to the POS. Removal of the smart card from the Ice 6000 slot, triggers a message to the POS to reset the transaction. |
