WinEPS Version 816.1 SP2 CD Table 

See the table below for a description of the new features provided and faults addressed in this release.

New Feature All customer card information within log files will be encrypted. In addition, previous CSV files after the upgrade to 816.1 will be deleted during an upgrade from previous versions of WinEPS to block any regeneration of the logs.
New Feature If an administrator operator enters their password incorrectly 5 times, instead of being locked out, they will receive the option to be given a temporary password by WinEPS.
New Feature The option to prevent an operator's password from expiring has been enabled/
New Feature Changing the locations of where the Signature Line can be stored the default test has been changed as follows:
  • Please Sign
  • and Hit enter/Done

This change is only to default text and does not affect already defined configurations
New Feature The Secure FTP port 7221, has been added to the list of ports that WinEPS automatically opens in Windows XP firewall.
New Feature The report module (RPT.EXE) now generates a log file (rptinfo.txt) for debugging sporadic printing issues. This log file is located in the EPS directory.
New Feature To maintain file security, the method of file transfer from WinEPS to OpenEps for configuration files has been updated from FTP to Secure FTP
New Feature Linux 4100 upgrade process now functions correctly with Linux POS environment
New Feature Hypercom 4100 terminals will now automatically upgrade SCAT code versions 102 and 103 to version 104
New Feature When performing EOD - the original receipt capture file is now saved to archive for that day
New Feature WinEPS now supports the NOVA host
New Feature the SCAT code for the Hypercom LS4100 has been changed to a more dependable file system called Reliant
New Feature WinEPS 816.1 is now compatible with Windows 95 and Windows 98
WinEPS Fix Selecting Alt-S in the Processing Options screen will be the same as clicking the Save button
WinEPS Fix Installation log file is now updated with a notation to reflect the success of installation
WinEPS Fix The OTHER amount in the Customer CashBack TAC will support triple language
WinEPS Fix The upgrade has been changed to remove extraneous actlog files
WinEPS Fix Installation logs will now reflect the correct versions
WinEPS Fix If Secure Send hangs, the WinEPS engine will no longer fail to start
WinEPS Fix TrackII data for pre-authorizations will now be stored for 8 EOD days before deletion
WinEPS Fix If a customer slid a card that was incompatible with the selection on the pin pad - terminal would freeze
WinEPS Fix If Primary IP connection was not completed the system would not try to connect to the secondary IP - this has been corrected.
WinEps Fix OffLine receipt and signature files were being partially written which would cause the Offline process to hang
WinEps Fix PBT (Pay by Touch) - if 0 wallets were being sent OpenEPS would lock
WinEps Fix OffLine logic for OpenEPS has been fixed in the following manner:
  • POST could timeout thereby sending incomplete data to WinEPS, WinEPS would not respond and from this point forward all other transactions would be held
  • WinEps would not respond to corrupt data and get in a loop - now corrupted data will be put to the end of the process so system can l go forward
  • Conflict between the system setting type of purchase and customer setting type of purchase - approvals for purchase were erroneously being given
WinEps Fix Intermittently at POST sign-on the flag to turn on Signature Capture would not be turned on
WinEps Fix WinEps was automatically printing EOD reports in a multiple printer environment - whether requested or not
