IBM Hardware Setup for IBM 4694 � 144/244/245

Add Expansion card to add a COM 3 and COM 4 
(We are currently using a LAVA card)]
Port Assignments: 
Port A -  Com 1 � Scanner
Port B -  Com 2 � Integrated Credit
              Com 3 -  Scale
              Com 4 � Printer (Axhiom Thermal)

Port 3A � IBM Cash Drawer
Port 4 � Customer Display
Port 5 � IBM Keyboard (Config set for 48 Key #92F6310)

NIC Setup � 
For 144 & 244  use the onboard NIC card which is defaulted to IRQ 10 in bios.

For 245�s we have added a NIC card using NE2000 protocol and assigning IRQ 10.  We are doing this because the onboard IBM NIC port is preset to IRQ 9 in bios and cannot be changed.  We are currently using a Kingston card.

**On the 245�s you must disable the �dump� switch from the motherboard by disconnecting the cable.

Software Loads for IBM 4694 � 144/244/245

1. Load DOS 6.22

2. Load the ICL/IBM v760.00 disks 1-3 � a:\install from disk 1.

- NO to PIP, confirm date/time, set POS #, Color, NE2000, Sure? Yes, 99 to config.sys (skip this  - will load With the IBM bats in Step 3), 99 to autoexec.bat (will load later), HOSTS file, accept as displayed.  No to reboot now.  C:\ prompt will display

3. Load the correct IBM bat from the IBM Batch Load disk (ie: IBM144 , IBM244 or IBM245) � a:\IBM244 will unpack the appropriate files.  C:\ displays when done.

4. Connect to LAN with a MFS

5. Power down, power up , POS will COLD START and go to the ISS45 main screen.

6. Upgrade to the correct credit version, if needed. (If not using integrated credit skip to Step 8).
- i.e. 760.00 CONCORD (1 disk) , F10 to exit to a DOS prompt (c:\pcmpos), a:\install and follow the prompts, select Axhiom, color.

7. Power down, remove the CONCORD disk, power up.  ISS45 main screen should come up.

8. Run a test transaction.
