ScanMaster 2.9.0 - Winter Major Release Notes

An updated ELO Touch Driver (v5.4.6) has been validated and released on the Fujitsu touch screens, including the DV15 Resistive Touch, D22 Resistive Touch, D25 IR and Resistive Touch and the TeamPoS 3000 XT with IR and  Resistive Touch.  See the Hardware Bulletins Page.

Fujitsu U-Scan F53 Bill Length Errors with Polymer Notes (Canada)

The new Canada polymer notes (with clear windows) have generated some instances of F53 errors after the Transparency Bit has been enabled (see also PSB-12-020 for recent introduction in Canada).  See the Hardware Bulletins Page.

PocketOffice 2.12.20 Release

PocketOffice 2.12.20, including Datalogic x3 support and some fixes, is now generally released.  Note that this release supports ScanMaster only, and the ISS45 version will be provided as soon as possible later this year.  A new Installation Guide for ScanMaster and ScanMaster with RBO is also provided (what - you need a refresher???)  Well, see the Release Table and the Install Guide.

Fujitsu Pricing Changes

The updated Fujitsu TeamPoS Pricing and Configuration bulletin provides some changes from Fujitsu.  There are about 50-60 changes (both decreases and increases) but we have been able to hold the line on the main packages.  Get it from the Updates Page.

New IBM/Toshiba SurePOS Products and Configuration

This pricing and configuration bulletin has been updated with the new 67-key keyboard and cable configurations.  Some packages are re-priced.  New versions of RAM are also available, and there are many other updates and clarifications in the configuration information.

Equinox L5300 Screen Customization

Retalix has released new "signed" screens for the Equinox L5300 to enable screen customization, customer logos and so forth.  These are provided with the FormBuilder manual (it works the same as L4150 etc.).  You'll find it on the Hardware Manuals Page in the Equinox/Hypercom section.

New LaneHawk Releases and Installs

LaneHawk 205 has a bunch of new system improvements, including velocity code support, background/invisible mode, screen sizing support, internal improvements and several fixes.  A new Server Install is available too, with eight new features and several fixes for the LaneHawk server program.  There's a 32-bit install, and a new 64-bit install too, enabling operation on 64-bit Linux versions.  You can get it all from the LaneHawk Maintenance Page.

ScanMaster 2.8.0-080 Release

ScanMaster 2.8.0-080 provides support for several new LaneHawk enhancements.  See the Release Table and get the release.

Retalix Loyalty Case Study

This case study was done with Cole's, a huge Australian retailer with more than 2,000 supermarkets, C-Stores and liquor outlets.  They have implemented Retalix Loyalty with more than 7 million shoppers across their 1,300+ supermarkets and C-Stores, and it's clear that Cole's has achieved the results they'd hoped for.  It's on the Case Services Page.

Software Point-to-Point Encryption with VeriFone PIN Pads

Hardware Point-to-Point Encryption ("P2PE") is available only with Equinox (Hypercom) PIN pads.  Retalix protects VeriFone users via software P2PE.  This Update Bulletin explains the Connected Payments encryption system for VeriFone installations.  Get the Update bulletin, which is also on the Updates Page and the Connected Payments All-In-One Page.

Wholesaler PINs - New Options

This updated Wholesaler PIN list adds some options for non-grocery customers and non-independent grocers that have internal non-wholesaler distribution.  Closed and consolidated warehouses have been deleted.. See the Reference Bulletin with all the updates.

New WinEPS 827.2 SP1

WinEPS 827.2 SP1 has been completed and certified with up-level ISS45 and ScanMaster releases.  This is a major CD release, which dealers in good standing should receive via FedEx next week.  There are several new features and fixes - and one critical point that ISS45 8160-080 REQUIRES this version of WinEPS.  See the Release Notes manual and the Release Table!

U-Scan Universal Bagging Station Field Conversions

The Universal Bagging Stations (UBS) shipped with the current U-Scan robots can be field-upgraded or modified to different bag setups.  For example, a one- or two-bag U-Scan with UBS can be upgraded to a four-bag U-Scan.  You'll still have to get the parts specified, configured and purchased, but if you ever have to do one of these, this UBS Field Conversion guide will go a long way to helping you out.  But if you don't need it now, that's ok - rest assured it will remain for you on the Hardware Manuals Page and the U-Scan All-In-One Page.

ISS45 Setup with HP rp5800 POS Terminals

ISS45 HASP with 8160-060 and Windows Server 2008

When installing ISS45 8160-060 on Windows Server 2008, the software (“HASP”) key may be lit, but it is not really operational, and the driver install may need to be repeated.  See the bulletin on the Software Technical Bulletins Page.

Solidcore Performance Fix

Due to an error in the integration batch file, POS performance may be decreased with Solidcore 5.1.2-8122. This behavior can be seen in the form of a delay in receipt printing, copying files across the network from the POS to the server etc.  A new install batch will be provided, but in the mean time there's a quick fix - see the bulletin on the Software Technical Bulletins Page.

IBM 4820 Touch Screen and Extended Desktop Setting

IBM terminals using the IBM 4820 touch screen and a customer display with the extended desktop setting can appear to lose the extended desktop setting after a reboot. This affects ScanMaster V2 as well as ISS45 V7 and V8 when running on the IBM SurePOS 300.  It's easy to fix though - see the bulletin on the Software Technical Bulletins Page.

ISS45 7150-120 and Release Notes

This new ISS45 release provides discount allocations across the several items in a Pick-5 promotion.  Also, Group Promotions can now include weighed items.  Several fixes are provided, so see the Release Notes/What's New doc on the ISS45 Manuals Page as well as the Release Table.

New TeamPOS DVD/RW Drive

The CD-RW/DVD drive that is used in various Fujitsu POS terminals is end-of-life and has been replaced by a new part.  See the Hardware Bulletins Page.

PCI Validated Service Provider List

PCI and Visa publish a continuously updated list of PCI service providers that are validated to have met PCI-DSS for the special service-provider requirements.  Occasionally, a customer may want to see this since PCI makes no certification documents (to prevent fraud) available for this purpose.  You’ll see that it still lists MTXEPS as the provider, and it will do that through September based on the compliance cycle.  At some point during October, PCI will change this to a Retalix listing.  Also, for whatever reason, PCI never lists the product or service name on these service-provider listings - just the company.  You'll find it on the PCI Page as well as the Connected Payments Page.

U-Scan - Dispensing New Canada Notes

Canada is in process of releasing a complete new series of Bill Currency, all of which have a Polymer window and many new security features. The new $100 and $50 are already released an in circulation. The new $20 is due for release/circulation in late 2012. A new version of CashCode firmware (for Bill Acceptance) has been released for each of these, with each release building upon and accepting all previous (reference PSB-12-019 for the latest release to accept the new $20 note)..  See the Hardware Bulletins Page.

Wholesaler PINs - Required

Retalix has reinstated the requirement that all orders must include the Wholesaler PIN.  This information does NOT obligate a dealer to pay anything, but instead helps negotiate for wholesaler resources when they understand the importance of the dealers' installed base of ISS45 and ScanMaster in their operational areas. LaneHawk Product Information Package

New U-Scan Firmware for Canada $50 Bill

New (updated) firmware is being released for the Cashcode SM Bill Acceptor (CA1520) that is designed to accept the new Canadian $50 note. This replaces previous firmware and improves the acceptance rate.  This only affects Canadian installations using the CashCode Bill Acceptor.  See the Hardware Bulletins Page.

Fujitsu WinCLD 2.2.3 TeamPoS Diagnostic

WinCLD 2.2.3 is now available to be updated onto previous WinCLD Bootable Thumb Drives. This Confidence Level Diagnostic supports the TeamPoS 3000, 3600 and 7000 terminals.  The software files and upgrade document allow for both building a new WinCLD Bootable Thumb Drive and for upgrading an existing WinCLD Thumb Drive to version 2.2.3.   See the Hardware Bulletins Page.

D22/D25 Stacked Display Mount Arm

The Stacked Display Mount Arm Pivots for the D22/D25 may become loose in cases where the display is very frequently repositioned by the operator.  This Display Mount is used in cases where the D22/D25 display is stacked on the TeamPoS 3000 or TeamPoS 3600 terminal. U-Scan - New Spacer for Genesis UBS Installations

When many bags are installed on the bag rack closest to the Genesis Customer Station main unit, these bags can rub against the station, possibly causing occasional weight security violations. This applies to U-Scan Genesis installations with the Universal Bag Scale (UBS) 1 or 4 bag scale.  See the Hardware Bulletins Page.

iPAD100-20 Main Board EOL

On the Fujitsu iPAD, the Main Board within the iPAD100-20 is now EOL, with critical components no longer being available. This primarily effects Repair Centers since repair of the iPAD to this level is not typically performed in the field.  See the Hardware Bulletins Page.

ScanMaster Payroll Check Configuration

Visa PCI Waiver for Using EMV?

Visa made some news by offering merchants PCI exemptions in return for using Europay/MasterCard/Visa ("EMV") chip-card technology.  It's too bad no one can actually qualify.  Your customers will ask you about this, so see the Update.

New RBO 4.8.1 Coming

RBO 481-050 is a major release planned for customer trial in August.  This release will be the first RBO version to support 64-bit O/S, and POS integration of the Ad-Markdown is also being improved by making it available directly from the batch manager window.  There are other features and fixes, so feel free to check the new Release Table.

ISS45 V7-V8 Converter

This pricing bulletin provides the new packages and options for the U-Scan Genesis system, including the Dolphin Mobile Attendant and new Genesis configurations.  The pricing on the Dolphin is a lower than the former Fujitsu iPAD, and much more so since the package now includes the Dolphin's base station and boot, charging cradle, power supply and a three-year hardware depot warranty direct with Honeywell.  The Dolphin package also includes the U-Scan Mobile Attendant software, and this software is now also available separately.  See the new Pricing Bulletin.

With the upcoming SurePOS 350 terminal, the IBM pricing and configuration bulletin has many new configurations, products and updates.  This new logic unit is expected to enter volume ship in the next 60 days, and provides additional horsepower, including much more RAM, a 500GB drive and a much faster CPU.  The current IBM 300 will stay in the product line for the present, and the bulletin provides updated configurations and other new items and clarifications.

go to 6-1-1-4 and press F6 and change February to 29 days. Especially since its already February 8.
