ScanMaster 1.3.1 Release

The "Fall" release of ScanMaster V1 includes the PocketOffice Interface, enhancements to S&H, Pricer ESL Interface and the masking of in-store charge account numbers.  Fixes for about 65 faults are also provided in this release.  Details can be found on the Release Table.  This release is available on CD-ROM, which is being shipped to StoreNext ScanMaster certified dealers.

Stores Magazine Article on U-Scan and Independents

Talk about right in the wheelhouse: this is an extremely positive article on independents and regional chains using U-Scan and self-checkout.  there are some great photos and references here, mentioning StoreNext and so forth.  Especially important is the "shopper service" point that's essential for independents to add in to their ROI assumptions.  Print these on slick paper and make sure they gets put in the package as part of your Self-Checkout campaign.  Available on the Brochures and U-Scan Pages.

Dual Video with S-Class TeamPoS Technical Bulletin

Technical Specialist Larry Lack has documented the theory and practice of using the TeamPoS 2000 S with dual video.  The Diamond Stealth S60 is now the "official card" - which is good since it supports both Analog and DVI, is readily available and not very expensive.  Available on both the hardware and software Technical Bulletins pages, since it's kind of both.

New Enterprise Solutions Area of the Dealer Support Web Site

For Dealers selling the StoreNext Enterprise solutions the (formerly TCI) products are now fully supported in a new area of this Dealer site.  You can get to this area via the button above or the menu item at left, and it provides a full range of collateral and service/support materials.

Pricing Changes for WinEPS and ScanMaster V1-V2 Upgrades

The new pricing for WinEPS and ScanMaster upgrades went into effect October 1 as previously announced.  Details are in the Upgdate Bulletin.  Also, the ScanMaster and WinEPS Reference Bulletins have been updated to reflect the change (as well as implement the typical various clarifications and additions).

Pervasive Database Upgrades for Pervasive Version 8.x

A few ScanMaster systems were installed over Pervasive Version 7.x.  To run ScanMaster 2.1 and above, the database must be updated to the current Pervasive version 8.x.  The ScanMaster Reference bulletin has been updated to include PINs for Pervasive Upgrades.

Espresso/Mocha Reference Bulletin

The ISS45 and ScanMaster Espresso bulletin has been updated to integrate the recent (well, sort-of-recent anyway) Espresso "Mocha" configurations plus the usual updates, additions and clarifications.

XP Compatibility and Matrix Update

ScanMaster 2.2.0-070 Release

One of our ScanMaster customers thought that the electronic journal really should not have stopped showing item movement data.  We agreed.  Also, shoppers won't have their names displayed on the shopper display/CID anymore - kind of a nice touch, don't you think?  It's posted and released.

ScanMaster RoadMap Update

See the ScanMaster Open RoadMap for updated contents of the 2.2.0-080 and 2.2.0-090 releases.  The 080 release adds a Unit of Measure Factor field for New York State, while the 090 release will provide Diner's Club/MasterCard and SoftThought enhancements and a masking fix.

Nominations Open This Week Only - StoreNext Business Council

StoreNext is pleased to open the nomination process for the 2005/2006 StoreNext Business Council. All StoreNext Dealer Principals/Owners are invited to volunteer themselves and/or nominate other Dealer Principals for a two-year term commencing in September. The council consists of six members from election by Dealer Principals and up to two additional Dealers added by StoreNext. The term of the elected members is two years, with overlapping terms so that three dealers are be elected each year. Current members remaining on the council for this coming year are Bob Bauer, Phil McCarthy, Gary Pollastro and Bill Tilson.  StoreNext thanks George Brady, David Fuller and Terry Woods for their outstanding service over the past two years, and we look forward to seeing their names among the nominations and volunteers for the upcoming term.  See the Update for details.

With the end of the TeamPoS 566 and some other details, the ScanMaster and ISS45 Express reference bulletin has been updated.  The Espresso bulletin has also been updated with additional details.  And don't forget that all ScanMaster and ISS45 Express are shipped with the first-unit PocketOffice software license through the end of this year!

Updated POS Hardware Reference Bulletin

Important changes were made to the TeamPoS/POS hardware reference bulletin, adding the A776 printer configurations and adding USB configurations of the Epson 6000 printer.  Also, this version completes the withdrawal of the 566MHz Celeron TeamPoS.

New RBO "Option" Pricing

RBO is now available at unprecedented low prices when purchased with new ISS45 and ScanMaster systems.  With the new lower prices, RBO Express is redundant and has been withdrawn along with the "Phased Migration" and "Baseline Migration" options (don't worry, the Pre-Purchase option, which trumped the other two anyway, is still going strong).

This release fixes the calculations with multiple tax rates.

ScanMaster Release 1.3.0-070

This Patchlet provides a hot fix for the electronic journal failing to process T-Log data.

ISS45 7100-080 Release

The food stamp ongoing balance is now available in the shopper screen.  In addition, fixes in this release include a Posware32 error/memory leak, improved support for check printing with the A776 printer and a WIC fix.  It's available from the Web as well as Code Distribution.

New RAID Server and Documentation

StoreNext is set to ship the newest "big" RAID server, the G520.  The Platforms bulletin (1047) will be updated, and Larry Lack has created a new installation document that you'll want to have close by when you're configuring this new server.  There are significant differences from the G510 and you need go through Larry's recipe to be successful.

ScanMaster Release 2.2.0-060

This Patchlet provides a couple hot fixes for movement extraction and SIL maintenance.  It's also available as "The Patch" of course - see the Release Table.

WinEPS 815.3 Release Notes — Final Version

RSPA Dealer Meeting — Presentation for You

StoreNext's RSPA Dealer Meeting on Monday afternoon provided dealers with a good level-setting of our partnership and progress to date, and a look at some key upcoming programs and events.  Important sales progress and strategic customer wins, wholesaler relationship programs, the upcoming Centurion Club programs for 2006, the Marketing Co-op Program, some new Direct Mail campaigns on your behalf and the upcoming User Conference in Dallas were presented.  We also reviewed the programs initiated by the StoreNext Business Council and Dealer Council, and StoreNext announced the formation of the StoreNext Customer Council with its inaugural meeting taking place at the User Conference in September.  Ray Carlin then reviewed StoreNext's progress to date on our "big" commitments to the Dealers and the Independent Grocery Market, updating the value we really bring together and StoreNext's overarching strategy for the future.

ISS45 Technical Bulletin - Moving an ISS45 V8 Database

This is an updated issue of the technical bulletin that describes how to move an ISS45 V8 database from a system with RBO to a system without RBO.

New Hardware Product Support Bulletins (PSBs)

A technical bulletin from Fujitsu describes the new printed circuit board that's now being shipped wiht the 9950.  Also, there's a PSB on the 9950 parts, plus one that describes the (former) blue-screen BIOS issue for reference.

New Mayday Equipment Return Policy

That is, you don't.  Don't have to return the equipment to StoreNext.  See the updated Mayday bulletin with a new form that's a lot cheaper to ship than the old hardware.  PDF and Word versions of this form are provided depending on how you'd like to work this - the ZIP version includes the Word file.

Promoting ScanMaster 2.1.2

At last week's StoreNext Business Council meeting one of the urgent requests was for a slim brochure that dealers could use to explain the advantages of ScanMaster 2.1.2 compared to the old releases.  Ask, and you shall (sometimes) receive.  There are two versions, a 122K for viewing and a 266KB version for printing front-and-back as a hand-out slick, both on the Brochures Page.

ISS45 Technical Bulletin - Changing Accountability

A conversion tool has been created to convert the Accounts Receivable 8.2.2 data before the upgrade to A/R 8.3.0.-051. this tool only needs to be run once and then the decimal point upgrade will take place as desired.

Promoting The Promotions...

One of ISS45 V8's strongest selling points is the Advanced Promotions system.  This system was designed specifically to give independents what they need for the creative merchandising they constantly invent.  Here are two new tools to help you sell this particular feature: First, a new one-page flyer-style sales piece that outlines the capabilities at, say, the 10,000-foot level, then to back it up, a special version of the V8 Manual (street cred with the merchandising folks) that details the promotional capabilities in V8 and how to use them.

ScanMaster Release 2.1.2-060

This release has some features, including Visa compliance with the new privacy precautions, and nice handling of the beeps with the Fujitsu scanners.  A few fixes too.

Pay By Touch and StoreNext to Collaborate

StoreNext and Pay By Touch have signed an agreement under which the two companies will market and provide Pay By Touch’s biometric authentication and payment system to independent grocers. The joint solution will allow shoppers to pay for purchases with the simple touch of a finger.

RBO Maintenance Update 15 and RBO Open RoadMap

Maintenance Update 1 is available for RBO 4.4, and MU 16 for RBO 4.3.3.  Please see the RBO Open RoadMap/Maintenance Page and the MU01/MU16 Release Tables.  The 4.4 MU1 picks up some help and a few minor issues discovered since the CD-ROM release.
